This summer's book is Four eyes by rex Ogle
(illustrated by Dave Valeza)
Four Eyes is a coming-of-age graphic novel based on the author's real-life sixth-grade year.
It follows young Rex as he navigates the overlapping challenges of middle school, severe vision problems, family financial struggles, and bullying.

Meet the author
REX OGLE is an award-winning author of more than a hundred books, comics, graphic novels, and memoirs.
Some of his most notable books include Free Lunch, Abuela Don’t Forget Me, Road Home, and middle grade graphic novels Four Eyes and Pizza Face.
Under his pseudonym REY TERCIERO, he also re-imagines classics as modern and diverse graphic novels, including Meg, Jo, Beth, & Amy, Northranger and Dan in Green Gables.
Rex Ogle’s books address a myriad of timeless issues, including themes of friendship, puberty, bullying, and poverty.
He uses his personal experiences to create stories filled with humor and compassion.
Born and raised in Texas, Rex now lives in Los Angeles where he writes every day—when he’s not reading X-Men, gaming with friends, or chasing his dog, Toby, trying to score a hug.
