Chippewa Middle School offers various clubs for students to participate in throughout the school year.

Art Club 

6th Grade

Interested in art? Art club gives you access to supplies and time to create with other students. We will draw, paint, and sculpt every Tuesday.  No previous knowledge required, come to learn!

Chess Club

Welcome to our Chippewa's world-famous Chess Club! Join our intrepid crew of budding grandmasters as they navigate the thrilling twists and turns of the 64-square jungle. Our chess club is where pawns dream of becoming queens, knights make their horses proud, and even the quietest rooks learn to rock the board. Whether you're a seasoned strategist or just enjoy moving pieces around with wild abandon, our Chess Circus is the place to checkmate, chuckle, and chomp on snacks.

Ready to be a leader and improve the culture of Chippewa? Want to help out your teachers and principals? Join this club and raise your student voice! Help us make Chippewa even more safe, respectful, and a fun place to learn by looking at CMS behavior data, teaming with the staff PBIS committee, and sharing student perspectives with staff.

Chip Action News

Chip Actions News is the news program for Chippewa! Join the cast and crew of Chip Action News to do special segments, write scripts, research topics, and more!

Coding Club

Do you know how to code a cool game or a sweet animation? Come teach others how to do it during coding club. Different students will lead with different types of code each week! Come learn how to code and design using various coding platforms.

Cooking Club

Love to cook or want to learn how to cook? Once a month students will meet and work together to create delicious meals! Each meeting is limited to 20 students and is first come first serve.

Current Events Club

Want to learn more about what is happening in the world and have great discussions and debates?    Current event club is the club for you.  We will be discussion hot topics in the news and topics affecting teens today.

DIY Craft Club

Do you like being crafty or doing do-it-yourself projects? In DIY Craft Club, we will be creating things and being artsy.

Drama Club

Do you enjoy performing in front of others? How about improv? What about creating videos? Join Drama Club! We will learn some good performance skills that will help you in all aspects of life!

Environmental Club

Do you care about the environment?  Do you want to learn more about how we can improve our actions toward the Earth? Join Environmental Club.  Let’s learn more and take action to make a difference!

Guitar Club

Do you play guitar? Do you want to learn to play guitar? Join Guitar Club! We will learn to play single string songs and songs with chords! We have a few extra guitars that you can use, but it would be better if you brought your own!

Homework Club

Need help with an assignment?  Or just a quiet place to work or read after school? Come join us at Homework Club!

Invention Convention

Have an idea in mind to solve a problem or help change the world? Are you ready to make a new invention that can help others? Are you ready to compete in a competition with students your age around the United States? Then JOIN INVENTION CONVENTION!

Jazz Band

The Chippewa Jazz Band allows students to perform music of many styles including traditional jazz, swing, latin, pop, and rock. All instruments are welcome! Students who are not enrolled in band or orchestra but are interested in joining, please contact Mr. Gavilan at gavilanb@d62.org or room 194.

K-Builders Club International

Calling all quiet leaders! If you enjoy helping others and improving the world, this club is for you! We will build your leadership skills through service projects and provide opportunities to explore your interests and talents that will make you a great leader while having fun!

Mosaic Mural

Do you like to break stuff? Do you like being creative? Come help us beautify Chippewa by creating a tile mosaic mural! Make your mark on Chippewa by creating an art piece that will be enjoyed by the Chippewa community for years to come.

NJHS

Candidates of National Junior Honor Society must possess characteristics in the areas of Scholarship, Character, Leadership, Citizenship, and Service. In order to be inducted into NJHS, candidates must have met all the requirements that were in effect during seventh grade and also meet the following requirements during the eighth grade school year.

Reaction & Robotics

This club offers a chance to work on a variety of new skills that you do not use in your everyday school career. Join us in creating and innovating a variety of technology and skills to make ideas and passions come to life.

Scholastic Bowl

Also known as Quiz Bowl, this club is an academic competition team. We study facts from several disciplines and compete in a few tournaments a year.

Social Board Game Club

Do you like playing games with family and friends?   We will be playing card games and board games twice a month during the chilly 2nd and 3rd quarters. We will play a variety of games like Apples to Apples and  Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza!  Maybe even one of your own games!

Student Council

Student council is an after school club for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Chippewa students. Our goal is to create a positive school community by promoting school spirit events and all-school activities.  As a member of student council, you are a school leader and will be given responsibility to help create activities that make Chippewa a great place to be!

Tabletop Strategy Game Club

Want to explore game theory and figure out the best way to win?

We will meet weekly to play tabletop and strategy games to improve critical thinking and socialize with your peers. We will learn new games, new strategies, and have fun along the way!

Tutor Time

Receive additional help in academic classes for 8th grade students.

Ms. Abraham Weekly: Wednesdays during 8th Grade lunch starting September and ending in April
Variety Show

Do you have a special talent that you do better than everyone? Audition to be the star of the Chippewa Variety Show. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders can audition with any talent for a chance to be in the Variety Show.

Students interested in joining crew can keep an eye out for an announcement closer to the performance.

Yearbook

Come help us design the yearbook and put it together. We take pictures and edit the content that will be published at the end of the year.
