CMS STEM Class: AKA AI Bias Detectives

Students in Ms. Alicia Koepke's STEM class were tasked with detecting the bias of AI image prompts and the effect such biases can have on individuals.

Ms. Koepke asked the students to look up specific images of an individual such as a "teenage babysitter," a "CEO" or a "brilliant computer programmer."

Then, after the image was generated, the students had to analyze and write down what AI actually showed most often.

And finally, the students had to look for the potential bias, asking themselves if the result was representative of everyone who could have this job.
