Middle School Students Visit Cumberland
Several Chippewa Middle School students who are part of the school's Newcomers Program visited Cumberland Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders this week to read to them.
The elementary students broke up into smaller groups and were each paired with a middle school student.
The middle school students read books about different careers, including doctors, plumbers, electricians, police officers, fire fighters and veterinarians.
After reading the books, the middle school students asked the elementary students what they wanted to be when they grew up.
The groups also also talked about what parts of the books they enjoyed the most.
After the books were read, the older and the younger students had fun playing games such as "Rock, Paper, Scissors" with each other and even took selfies together.
