Cross Country Collaboration
Chippewa

Chippewa's 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls cross country teams participated in a middle school meet at Maine West High School this week.

The cross country collaborative event featured a total of three races.

The first race involved the 6th grade boys and girls cross country teams from all three District 62 middle schools: Chippewa, Algonquin and Iroquois, along with members of the Maine West cross country team.

The students started at the top of Maine West's hill and ran twice around the edge of the football stadium, the soccer field and the tennis courts.

The second race consisted of the 7th and 8th grade girls running the course.

Finally the 7th and 8th grade boys had their turn.

At the end of each race the runners were handed cards that they had to turn in to the scoring table at the finish line.

Thank you to the Maine West cross country teams for running alongside the middle school students, giving them support and encouragement the entire way!
