Fifth Annual Chip Lit Family Night

Fifth Annual Chip Lit Family Night
Chippewa

On Thursday, February 8 Chippewa Middle School hosted its fifth annual "Chip Lit" Family Night.

More than 200 participants attended this much-loved event!

Upon arrival, all families were greeted with new Scholastic books.

Families were then invited to visit several rooms to participate in all different activities, including crafting, composing refrigerator magnet poetry, creating their own valentine, playing trivia, making rainbow scratch bookmarks and learning origami.

The Des Plaines Park District and the Des Plaines Public Library hosted tables at the event as well.

The evening ended with a raffle and many laughs from the improv comedy group, The MoonSharks.

Thank you to the many staff members, members of the National Junior Honor Society and students from the K-Builders Club who volunteered their time to make this event a huge success!

The evening was made possible by a grant from the D62 Education Foundation awarded to LMC Specialist Emily Conti and Reading Interventionist Jill McAvoy.
