The Chippewa Middle School cross country season has officially started for the school's 6th, 7th and 8th grade runners.

On Thursday, August 8, Chippewa Middle School staff welcomed more than 150 incoming 6th grade students to campus for Chip Camp!

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Chippewa students enjoyed a performance from the Chinese Fine Arts Society.

Chippewa Middle School recently hosted a four-day residency of writers and poets from the non-profit organization Young Chicago Authors.

Chippewa Middle School recently hosted its second annual Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) Night.

Chippewa 8th grade students recently participated in a service day during English Language Arts class to learn the values of service, kindness and community.  

Eighth grade students in Ms. Caitlin Hatta's science class recently were tasked with developing a model to describe how food is rearranged in the body through chemical reactions.

Several Chippewa Middle School students who are part of the school's Newcomers Program visited Cumberland Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders this week to read to them.

Chippewa's Student Council, led by Ms. Caitlin Hatta and Ms. Melissa Kujaz, met last week to discuss what the group needed to accomplish before spring break. 

8th grade student's in Mrs. Caitlin Hatta's class this week learned how to balance high school level equations.

On Thursday, February 8 Chippewa Middle School hosted its fifth annual "Chip Lit" Family Night. 

Art Teacher Carli Kanter and English Language Arts Teacher Erin Shanahan run a Mural Mosaic Club at Chippewa Middle School twice a month.

On December 18, Chippewa Middle School eighth graders had the privilege of meeting and listening to Chicago-based author, Ralph Shayne.

Chippewa students stayed after school last week to create ornaments for the CMS holiday tree in Metropolitan Square.

Sixth graders in Ms. Kanter's art class spent time working on landscape art this week. 

Chippewa's Cooking Club meets once a month after school to create easy, fun and healthy recipes. 

Students from our Symphonic Band met with band students from Algonquin and Iroquois on October 10th at Maine West High School.

Chippewa's 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls cross country teams participated in a middle school meet at Maine West High School this week. 

Mrs. Koepke's 6th grade STEM students learned how to draw multi-view sketches this week.

6th grade students in Ms. Shanahan's ELA class started their personal narratives this week.

6th grade student's in Mr. Moser's PE class were excited to get outside Friday morning to participate in instant activities.

Indiana-based author and illustrator Rob Harrell spent the morning with Chippewa Middle School
students on Wednesday, December 13.

Chippewa students had a fantastic time at STEAM Night on April 13 making music with circuits, coding robots, making ice cream, creating prints, playing games, building towers and more!

Chippewa Middle School STEM teacher Alicia Koepke taught a lesson last week where students made their own space pudding through the process of rehydration.

On March 22, 8th grade students in Ms. Heslop, Ms. Radak, and Ms. Dankowki's ELA classes built items for the community.
